Chapter 1
It's Emma's first day at the Rosemond Valley Post. Her first job is
to introduce herself to her co-workers at the paper. The game starts in Bob's office. Bob
introduces himself, the paper and the co-workers to Emma
- Ask Bob as much as you can about the paper and the people working
there.
- Get a pen, notebook, camera, and beeper from Emma's desk drawer.
- Introduce Emma to Malcolm. Ask as many questions as you can.
- Introduce Emma to Lucy. Ask as many questions as you can.
- Go to the darkroom and try to enter it twice. Tom asks Emma somewhat impolitely to close
the door.
- Introduce Emma to Carla. Ask as many questions as you can. Comment on the painting and
the piranha.
- Go to Carla's office and listen to three phone calls by trying to talk to her.
- Ask Bob about Emma's first job, which is to go and interview Debbie, the hairdresser.
- Leave the newspaper office.
GO TO THE OLD TOWN, FIND DEBBIE'S HAIR SALON
- Interview Debbie. Ask as many questions as you can.
- Get information about Kit Grace (maiden name, that she suddenly left Rosemond Valley 20
years ago and has not been back since) and about Kit's mother. Find out where the mother
(Mrs. Holmes) lives. In the Old House up the road in the Old Town.
GO TO MRS. HOLMES'. PRETEND TO BE THE HOMEHELP, OR YOU WON'T BE
ALLOWED IN.
- Introduce Emma to Mrs. Holmes.
- Get the feather duster from the flowerpot in the kitchen window.
- Dust the porcelain cats, the poster, the wall and the picture of Kit. In the meantime,
ask Mrs. Holmes as much as you can.
- Ask if the attic needs cleaning. It is too dark up there, however, so Mrs. Holmes asks
Emma to return later.
- When Emma is leaving she is given Mrs. Holmes' membership card for the Friends of the
Museum. Mrs. Holmes also asks Emma to make an appointment for her at Debbie's.
GO BACK TO DEBBIE'S HAIR SALON.
- Make an appointment for Mrs. Holmes.
GO BACK TO THE NEWSPAPER OFFICE
- Speak with Tom in the darkroom. Ask him as much as possible about
Hawaii (find out that he met Bob and Carla there).
- Show Bob the notes from the interview and ask him what he thinks.
- Find a mysterious note (about an empty display case) on the desk.
- Go and ask Tom if he wrote the note.
GO TO THE MUSEUM ON THE CAMPUS. SHOW THE MEMBERSHIP CARD TO THE
GUARD IF HE ASKS.
- Go to the second floor and find an empty display case. There
should be a note there.
- Speak with Vicini who is looking at jewels.
- Find Malcolm. Ask him as many questions as you can.
- Find Bob. Ask him as many questions as you can.
GO BACK TO THE NEWSPAPER OFFICE.
- Read about the diamond theft in the Database with all the back
issues of the paper.
- Look at a letter from Griffin on Lucy's desk. Lucy gets angry.
- Find a flashlight in the darkroom and pick it up.
- Go to Carla and ask her if you can go to lunch.
GO TO THE DINER THAT'S LOCATED ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SQUARE
- Talk to Annie about everything that has happened.
- Take the umbrella on the hook near the door.
GO BACK TO DEBBIE'S HAIR SALON.
- Find a cheap novel (A million in the hand, by Karen Stone). Emma gets a haircut.
- Talk to Debbie about Kit. Emma is displeased with the haircut. Debbie offers a wig.
- Take the wig in the window.
GO TO MRS. HOLMES
- Go up into the attic.
- Find and use lamp to light up the attic.
- Find a wedding photo of Kit and Parker in the box.
- Find a coat.
- Leave the attic. Show the wedding photo to Mrs. Holmes.
- Leave Mrs. Holmes House.
Chapter 2
Evening outside Mrs. Holmes house.
GO TO THE SQUARE. A BURGLER LEAVES THE NEWSPAPER OFFICE AND
DISSAPEARS IN TO THE ALLEY
- Follow the burglar in to the alley.
- Use the umbrella on the ladder (fire escape) to get up on to the roof.
- Find the plank. Use it to get over to the roof on the other side.
- Balance on the plank to the other roof.
- Find a loose rock.
- Use the loose rock. Find a box with a tape.
ENTER THE NEWSPAPER OFFICE
- Find a safe behind the picture in Bob's office.
- Find a watch and a receipt in the darkroom.
- Find a photo of Kit Grace in Malcolm's desk drawer.
- Find some notes in Lucy's desk drawer.
- Use the tape player (in the office) to listen to the tape. Parker confesses to stealing
the diamonds from Griffin and then leaving for the West Indies. The confession is aimed at
Kit (who never got it) whom he asks to follow him there.
Chapter 3
The Newspaper Office in the morning at the day after the break-in.
- Talk to Bob (about young people of today/hooligans)
- Talk to Tom about the break-in.
- Talk to Lucy about the break-in.
GO TO THE NORTH SIDE
Find Vicini & Son, the jeweler shop. Located on a side street.
- Ask as Vicini as much as possible, especially about Tom and Lucy.
- Go to the hotel at the end of the main street.
- See Kit and Malcolm talking to each other.
- Talk to the Hotel Clerk.
- Go back to the Museum.
- Ask the guard if you can look around a bit. Enter the door to the museum storeroom on
the ground floor (to the left of the guard).
- A mysterious man in a trench coat drugs you.
Chapter 4
Emma wakes up in the storeroom.
- Find the poison arrow.
- Pick up the cockroach.
- Put the poster under the door to the storeroom.
- Use the arrow on the door to get the key out of the keyhole and pull the key on the
poster under the door. Open the door with the key.
- Shut off the Central alarm and the Display case alarm in the Security room.
- Go to the second floor, to the room with the empty display. Climb out the window.
GO TO THE NORTH SIDE, ENTER THE HOTEL
- Use the disguise (wig and coat) with the restroom to get changed.
- Put the cockroach on the floor by the dining room door.
- Check the hotel ledger when the clerk is gone. Find out in which number Kit Graces room
has.
- Find Kit's room. Pretend to be a journalist from a gossip magazine.
- Interview Kit and ask as many personal questions as possible, until Kit gets so upset
that she runs to the bedroom. Search the room when Kit is gone.
- Find and read a letter from Parker. The letter reveals that Kit and Parker have a child.
- Discover the trench coat in the closet.
- Go in to the bedroom and ask Kit some more questions.
- Leave the hotel.
Chapter 5
The next day at the newspaper office...
- Ask Lucy as many questions about her family as possible.
- Ask Tom as many questions about his family and childhood as possible. Find out that a
lens for the darkroom equipment is missing since the break-in.
GO TO THE DINER
- Talk to Annie about everything that has happened. The entire
story...
- Talk to Lucy at a table in the back of the diner. Find out that she is Griffins daughter
and that she writes crime novels under the name of Karen Stone.
GO TO THE NEWSPAPER OFFICE
- Convince Tom that he needs a haircut.
- Convince Malcolm that he needs a haircut.
GO TO MRS HOLMES HOUSE
- It's time to take Mrs. Holmes to the hairdresser.
IN DEBBIE'S HAIR SALON
- Talk to Malcolm. Mrs. Holmes reacts. Malcolm is her grandson, Kit
and Parkers son.
- Talk to Debbie and make sure that she brings Mrs. Holmes home.
- Leave the hair salon.
Chapter 6
Your in the Old Town outside Debbie's.
GO TO THE SQUARE AND IN TO THE ALLEY
- There you meet Malcolm, he seems a bit strange.
- Look at everything in the dumpster. Find the trench coat with a bent key in the pocket.
GO TO VICINIS SHOP ON THE NORTH SIDE
- Use the bent key with Vicini, ask him to straighten it.
GO TO THE NEWSPAPER OFFICE
- Talk to Bob.
- Talk to Carla.
- Try to talk to Malcolm (who ignores you).
- Turn up the heat with the thermostat. Malcolm gets up to put his coat away.
- Find Malcolm's coat on a hanger outside Carla's office. Find his car keys in the pocket.
- Go to Malcolm's car outside the office. Open it with the keys.
- Find the jewels in the glove compartment.
- Malcolm shows up. Ask him as much as possible about the diamonds and about Parker. Find
out that the diamonds are replicas and that Parker must have been double-crossed by
someone. Malcolm moved to Rosemond Valley to solve the mystery. He wanted Emma's help,
therefore he left secret notes for her, to make her curious.
- Carla shows up and she is angry with Emma and Malcolm for just standing around, they
should be working. Make up an excuse. Carla leaves.
- Malcolm gets a phone call and leaves in his car.
GO TO VICINIS SHOP ON THE NORTH SIDE
- Ask Vicini to look at the diamonds you found in Malcolm's car. He
confirms that they are reproductions that he has made himself for the museum. Emma
concludes the replicas must also have been stolen from the museum as well.
GO TO THE NEWSPAPER OFFICE
- Make Bob leave his office. Tell him that Parker called. That makes
him go.
- Find a torn note in Bob's wastebasket. "Malcolm knows to much
"
- Open the safe behind the picture. Find the missing lens for the darkroom.
- Go to the darkroom. Fix the developing equipment with the lens. Develop the roll of film
form you camera.
Chapter 7
In the Darkroom.
LOOK AT THE DEVELOPED PICTURES
- Carla in Hawaii with the Treasure diamonds around her neck.
- Malcolm and Kit Grace at the hotel.
- Models in Hawaii.
- Debbie.
ENTER CARLAS OFFICE.
- Find a notebook on the desk, read what's written about Malcolm
knowing to much.
GO TO THE DINER
- Get an old salami sandwich from Annie.
GO TO THE NEWSPAPER OFFICE
- Feed the sandwich to the piranha. Take the castle from the
aquarium and throw it on the floor. Find the Treasure diamonds.
- Carla shows up. Emma hides in the closet.
- Carla talks to Bob on the phone. Carla has a plan and asks Bob to meet her outside the
diner. She leaves.
- Emma gets a message on her beeper. "If you like to see your sister again, come to
the museum with the diamonds.
GO TO THE MUSEUM
- Enter the museum by the back window (the door is looked)
- Place the Treasure diamonds and the replicas in the display case to get the right
weight.
- Go down to the security room and switch on the display case alarm.
- Carla, Bob and Annie are in the jewelry room. The entire story is revealed. How Carla
and Bob tricked captain Parker after he stole the diamonds from Griffin. They made him
think they would share the loot but gave him the replicas. They have not dared to sell the
big diamond, etc
Outro movie
Emma, Annie, Malcolm, Tom, Lucy, Mrs. Holmes and Kit Grace are at
the Diner talking about all that has passed. Everybody thanks Emma for solving the diamond
mystery.
